Only 3 more days of week 3 left! The hardest part of the week is over now. I noticed yesterday that I need to move up in my weights for some of the workouts...interesting to me. Just some of the exercises, not all of them! I will take an improvement when I can. I do know I am getting stronger and building more muscle, now I just have to melt away my layer of insulation. I will, it will take time and hard work but I will. I am not as tenacious as the Edenfield's, but few people are! I haven't given up hope to be like them as far as bringing it goes. I keep pushing play and remember each day I do this for me. I want more from myself than I have in a while.

Week 3

Week 3 has started. I have small bruises on my tri-ceps, identical on both arms. I guess I really pushed it. I can tell I am getting stronger and now I am going to try for better form. I have been running. I used to hate it but I like to be able to clear my mind of the bad things I have going on in there. I know if I can get through it I can get through anything...I keep reminding myself that I am tough and I can do it. Every day makes a difference..think positive and pray. I fall asleep praying most nights and being thankful for the blessings in my life. Breathe in the good thoughts....breathe out the bad...let it go! LET IT GO!!!! LET    IT   GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
I wish all of you the best...
Peace and Blessings

Week 3 has started! I feel really good and am not AS sore, or I have gotten used to it...not sure which is the case. Anyhoo, I haven't stopped and don't plan on it either. Chest and back was today. I did not do pull ups but did inverted rows with weights, and that was hard. I may be feeling those tomorrow! Who cares? I can do more push ups than last week - still on my knees but doing them and doing them well, in my head at least. Hey I am trying hard here and if I have to give props to myself then so be it baby. I had a really good day to day and it was beautiful outside. What did you do for yourself today? Hmmm...might want to rethink your options. I am just going to mention this once today, if you don't take care of yourself, who will? I want to be able to enjoy life at 80 people, still doing things on my own for myself. Sounds like a retirement plan to me...better than SS. Think about it.

Oh, so I have been a slacker on here! I have been working out but time on the computer has been cut. Getting ready for school to start = crunch on the time I have to do some things I like. No biggy, I did miss my yoga but got all the others in...Kempo, then Stretch today and I may do yoga tonight! I think that would be alright to do. This next week is going to be interesting to say the least. I gots my shakeology and I feel fine so bring it on.

Today my hands feel heavy. Oh it is because I did shoulders and arms today! I can barely type this, but somehow I will manage. This is a tough one guys. My arms are not as strong as they will be, nor are my shoulders - but next week I will be stronger than today. Trying to see the bright side. No, I know it is worth it but it is hard. I keep on keeping on and sooner or later it will show, right? I mean it has to eventually. It is a proven fact and I highly doubt I am going to be the one to disprove a bunch of labbies. Got in my great breakfast of greek yogurt, non fat cottage cheese and fresh (just picked them myself) Norris blueberries...yuuum. Small apple with peanut butter for snack and protein bar for lunch. Getting ready to have a shakeology for a snack (only half a serving). Goal = more protein, less fat/sugar, move more and build lean mean muscle.

Second week

Yesterday was the start of week 2. We usually do our workouts in the evening. Let me say that I think it was tougher than last week. I struggled with it. But I did it and I keep saying "DO YOUR BEST AND FORGET THE REST!!" I gave myself and Todd pep talks along the way. Then we did Ab Ripper X. When I can do all of those 300 plus exercises I will really be proud of myself. This is the point though....I will NEVER get there if I do not keep pushing play. Giving up is not an option. I want to see ab muscles! I am going to tell you and I know I will continue to say this, but I am in better shape than when I was a teenager. I just want to continue to improve and improve!

It is me, Terra. I have to chime in to say that I have started week 2 with back and chest on Monday. I did Plyo today already and am glad it is off the agenda. I like plyo, it is a great workout and makes me sweat tons. Babs refers to sweat as fat cells crying. I like to punish my fat cells and make em cry, why not they make me cry! Call me crazy but, I am seeing a difference in my strength already. Nothing huge, but enough to keep a smile on my face when I realize what I can do. Booyah baby. Lean muscle burns fat. I want this!

Shakeology...the bomb-diggity!!!

Hello all,
I am going to go on and on about my favorite meal replacement shake.....SHAKEOLOGY!!!!!!
I can not say enough good things about this. I have 2 stories to tell about the wonders of this incredible shake.
Story #1....this is about my mother, Barbara Tutewiler. Last year she decided to change her eating habits and start using Shakeology. A year later she is down 70 lbs. Now keep in mind my mother turned 76 in Feb. She is in a wheelchair because her right leg was amputated in 1990. She went in recently for her yearly blood work and guess what....improvements across the board....cholesterol down, triglycerides down, blood sugar down! She feels so much better and has more energy. My sweet mommy rocks!!!!

Story #2..this is about my cousin Christy Fugate. She just recently began using Shakeology. She was born with Spina Bifida. She is an incredible person, beautiful inside and out with a heart of gold and very courageous! Christy said that she noticed that she is sleeping so much better and that she no longer has cravings for sweets! Her glasses are slipping off her face and her dad had noticed that she has lost weight. Her mother said that since Christy has been using Shakeology that she has not had the digestive problems she has had and that she even had fresh corn on the cob and had no problems at all...a treat she had not been able to enjoy before Shakeology. The one thing that I am tickled about the most is that her mother also shared that the fact her colostomy site has never looked better. I am thankful to Beachbody for all the research that has gone into this miracle shake..It has given hope to people that thought there was nothing that could be done about their weight or health. My mom and Christy are proof that Shakeology is the real deal and more than a meal replacement shake....it is making them healthier!
I know I can tell a difference when I have not had a shake for a few days...sluggish and bloated beyond belief. I love Shakeology and I love Beachbody! I am glad I am a coach and I am helping to change peoples lives...people I love and keep in my heart!
Peace and Blessings!

I am adding to this as well. I really do love my shakeology and do notice a huge difference in my energy level. Heck even my 2 youngest kids ask for sakeology. They think of it as a milkshake treat and I know that they are getting in protein, vitamins and probiotics in their systems. It helps them get the fiber they need as well - only they don't know all of this good stuff is going on. Well played me! Over the last year I have seen drastic changes in my mom (story #1 from Babs). The changes make me so incredibly happy - it means she is healthier and going to have a better quality of life! My mom isn't having the digestive troubles that she used to have, all of her labs have normal values and she has energy to boot! She has been in a wheelchair since 1990 and has limited range of motion in her arms as well...so if she lost 70 lbs, I know I have zero excuses. Period. Dot. End of story. There it is in type on the net and can never be taken back!

Now I have to give props to Christy Fugate!!! She has to be one of the sweetest people I know. She kind, gracious, funny and cute as a button. She is also in a wheelchair and is seeing great results from shakeology in a short amount of time...I can not wait to hear about her results after she has been using shakeology for a year! I am so excited for her and her health. I am very proud she is doing this not only for herself but for her family as well. Yeah for Christy! These amazing ladies give me strength and encouragement! Thank you, and much love to my girlies.
YES! I did my day 6 of Kempo X. This workout isn't my fav but I was liking it today. It helped stretch out my legs and shoulders - and they both needed some stretching out. I guess I need to stretch out all of my pieces and parts but I am dogged right now. I have been tracking my eats and workouts on my fitness pal. I like that website, has a few flaws but I will work around it. Oh well. At least I am keeping track of what is going on in my life and it is in my face. I am owning what I do, don't do and eat! Trying to make this into a habit and posting is helping me to reach my goal. Even if this is never read by anyone, I don't care.

Back and Legs

Day 5 done. The pull ups are tough. Still can't do them but I modify and try my best to be a little stronger. I don't think I got in enough food yesterday, because I kind of bonked today. The tip of the day = what you eat today prepares your body for tomorrow. So don't skimp, skip or cut out meals. Eat six small times a day, and try to make good choices. I love an apple with a tbs of peanut butter for a snack, or a handful of almonds. I do not always make the best choices, but I am trying to! If I have something not so good - I don't beat myself up, but I also don't throw the towel in either - well I fell off the wagon I may as well crawl under it and never get back on again! I have and never will be perfect at anything. I just want to be better at being comfortable with myself. I am doing this for me!

Side note - I am sore but the Yoga really helped stretch my muscles out and today it isn't bad at all.

Yoga day!

It was YogaX for day 4. I love doing this yoga workout. It is balls to the wall hard. No other way of putting it. I am not as bendy as I will be that is for sure. Yoga is very difficult and everyone thinks it is just stretching and silly breathing. I am here to challenge you to do this one and then get back to me. All I know is I do what I can and forget the rest. I did not get a chance to post yesterday for all of the other things that I had to get done. But here it is for all of its glory! I have to say I do feel better after each workout. My body screams at me and reminds me that I do still have muscle. It is rewarding to feel this feeling. However, I may own some serious stock in Ibuprofen by the end of 90 days. I am off to do day 5 and I will be back to put in some more thoughts, after my deliciously yummy shakeology! If you have not tried this stuff, I recommend that you do. I can not say enough good things about shakeology people!

Day 3

Tonight it is shoulder and arms, then maybe a 2 mile run. I am still sore from Monday's workout, but that means that definition will be coming along. ;0)
I keep reminding myself that at age 42 I am stronger and more fit that in my teenage years. Yes I was thin-probably too thin- when I was young....but that was a skinny-fat. I have more tone and definition! That is all thanks to Beachbody! Anyone can get healthier.

Day 3 in the books for me. Arms and shoulders plus some ab ripper x. I am sore all over now. Moving a bit slower, but still moving. I like when I move and I can feel exactly what muscles are working, or have been worked! You all know what I mean. It makes me smile and cringe all at the same time. So worth it. I can not do the Ab ripper like I want, so I am going to do Hip Hop Abs tonight to be sure I get in a good ab routine. Had my pre work out shakeology with peanut butter. Man alive, that stuff gives me an incredible energy boost and starts my day off right. Ahmazing stuff right there. Here's to all we do people to help ourselves be better.

Day 2

Well, we are done with day 2. I am very sore from yesterdays workout!! I am extremely tired and was looking forward to getting to bed early for another busy day tomorrow. However, my sweet puppy dog decided to chase a skunk and the skunk won. Sprayed him right square in the face! Todd and I have been scrubbing and scrubbing...hopefully we got most of the skunk oil off! Time for bed!
Peace and Blessings

I put in my time for day 2. I am sore from day 1! I hurt in places I did not know I hurt until Sean rubbed my back. It is a good pain. I like Plyo, so yeah me. Am I a pro, hells no. BUT I did it and tried to do it well. Now off to take some advil and have my shakeology! Yummy.

Tough Workout

Tonight was the first night of P90X. That was a tough workout! We gave it our all and I am anticipating soreness tomorrow. I also ran a training 5K this morning, getting geared up for a Warrior Dash in Sept. I did pretty well...29.15....then I went and did a small run/walk with Todd. I really should not have done that because I am pooped out! I just did not want to be left out. Kristen ran with us too...proud of my boo boo!
I am really excited about the P90X...we are charting our progress and I know we will get stronger and stronger with each passing day. This really is an awesome company and they really show the love and support for their coaches!!! One of the best things that I eat, is my Shakeology. Really gives you a boost and makes me feel great all around. I am probably rambling on and I apologize...time for a great nights sleep!!!! Peace and Blessings
Babs

Ok, so I got my workout in for today, chest and back. Let me just say that pull ups and I are not friends, yet. I will get stronger and master them! I can do push ups but not as many as I will be able to do next week. I feel great, now that my arms are responding again! I may need to wash my hair again tonight. But I am here and no worse for the wear, in fact I feel great and know I will rest well tonight. Sweet dreams and advil should do the trick.

Day 1

My name is Babs and I am an Independent Coach for Beachbody. The biggest part of my life I have been a mother and wife. My children have grown and now I have more time on my hands and I can focus more on myself. This is a strange concept to me. I started going to Fit Club with Mike and Mica Edenfield in May 2010. I will NEVER forget that day...we did P90X Plyometrics and I made it through the warm up and went straight to the bathroom for fear of throwing up! I kept going back and Fit Club continued to grow and by July, I became a coach. I fell in love with the workouts because I saw real results. My arms and legs have actually toned up!!! I have also taking to running...something I had loathed. I love the way it makes me feel afterwards...energized and that I have accomplished something. Exercising also makes me feel so much better about myself and I feel clearer and happier. Now I am ready to go to the next level of fitness... I know this will not be the easiest thing to do, but I know it will be so rewarding. I am thrilled that my darling daughter, Kristen and my best friend and sister, Terra will be joining me on this journey. I hope we inspire people.

So today it starts! I am Terra and this is a little about me and why I am doing the P90X challenge. I just turned 40. Seriously just yesterday. So this is my gift to me. I have never liked how I looked and have never been comfortable in my own skin. I want to change all that. I need to do this for me and my family. I have 3 kids and a husband in grad school. Pretty much says it all right there, but...I want to have more energy and like how I look in clothes and out of them! I do exercise but not at this level and I want to challenge myself and see what I can do. I am happy that I am doing this with my bestie (sister too) Babs and Kristen my niece. I am going to get this thing moving and grooving and see where it takes me.

And rounding out the trio will be me, Kristen.

This month, I’ll be starting the P90X program for the first time. I know it’s going to be a lot of hard work and a major pain to keep myself motivated, but I know I can do it. Plus, I won’t be doing it alone, which works out great for me. My mom and aunt will be taking the journey with me, each of us with slightly different reasons.

For over a year now, my mom has been utilizing P90X workouts and generally becoming more active. She’s even changed up her diet, severely cutting down her red meat intake and adding in lots of turkey instead, eating more fresh fruits, and she swears by Shakeology. She’s a big fan of the whole P90X system and the company, so much so that she became a Beachbody Coach. Seeing her make such a huge decision about her health and lifestyle has inspired me to make a change, too.

Well, no more excuses and taking it easy for me. I want to get back in shape. I don’t necessarily want to lose any weight, but I want to feel healthy again. I want to run everyday again. I want to be able to do push-ups, pull-ups and sit-ups like I used to be able to do. Those are my goals for starting this journey and with a little help from my family I know I can do it.

This blog is going to be our little project to keep our friends and family updated on our progress. Thanks for reading and supporting us on the way!

I’ve always been an active child; I took ballet lessons for 9 years and ran track and cross country in high school. The past couple years have been a different story. I went off to college and got lazy. I stopped running and exercising completely. And this has been my habit for the last 5 years. The only thing stopping me from remaining healthy and in shape has been me. I just put it off and make excuses. “Oh, I’ll run after work.” “I’m too tired today, I’ll do it tomorrow.” As a 23-year-old college student with a part-time job, carving out a little time to exercise shouldn’t be a problem.
